Libra Industries Sponsors 5th Annual AWT RoboBot Competition

MENTOR, OH – May 2015 – Libra Industries, a privately held electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, recently sponsored and participated in the 2015 AWT RoboBot Competition. This marks Libra Industries’ fifth year participating in the competition.

With a record-breaking 35 teams competing, the AWT had a full house at Lakeland Community College. Libra Industries and Focus Manufacturing coached the Mentor High School students to develop two RoboBots this year. With the double elimination bracket, Focus Manufacturing got knocked out early in the competition and Libra Industries came in 7th place.

The Alliance for Working Together (AWT) was established in 2002 as a small informal group to discuss topics of interest and as a way to reach out to other manufacturers in the region. The AWT has since been meeting to address issues, challenges and best practices. Rod Howell, CEO of Libra Industries has been a board member of the AWT for since early on. The AWT consortium now includes more than 100 manufacturing companies. The AWT Foundation’s mission is to promote the development of rewarding careers in manufacturing for the long-term success and growth of manufacturing community.
