OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY
THE CHRISTOPHER R HOWELL MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
Libra Industries is a proud sponsor of the Christopher R. Howell Memorial Foundation which supports deserving local high school students with scholarships for college. Without these scholarships, many of the recipients wouldn’t be able to attend the college of their choice. The Christopher R. Howell Memorial Foundation was begun in memory of Christopher Howell, a much beloved executive of LIbra Industries and brother of Rod Howell, founder of Libra Industries. Visit the CHRMF at www.crhmf.org.
Good things happen when business leaders mix with kids and each other. EDGE welcomes students from Cleveland’s Breakthrough Schools along with business and civic leaders from Northeast Ohio for a day of mentoring and fun in the Club Section. Libra Industries proudly supports this event and attends regularly with two students from Breakthrough Schools. Visit them at https://breakthroughschools.org.
THE ALLIANCE FOR WORKING TOGETHER (AWT)
Libra Industries supports The Alliance for Working Together (AWT) which was started in 2002 as just a small informal group (15 or 20) to discuss topics of interest and as a way to reach out to other manufacturers in the region. The AWT has since then been meeting to address issues, challenges and best practices. One topic kept bubbling to the surface was where would the next skilled workforce come from. The AWT Foundation’s mission is to promote the development of rewarding careers in manufacturing for the long-term success and growth of our manufacturing community. To that end, an annual RoboBots Competition is held to encourage local students to become engaged in the manufacturing process by designing and building a working robot. Libra Industries supports this event by providing leadership, personnel and materials. Visit them at http://thinkmfg.com.
